What happens after an intro call?

Updated August 14, 2026

You need to complete the intro call before the post-call decision becomes available.

Make your decision

After the call, open Intro calls and select View details. The page asks whether you want to work with the supervisor.

Choose the positive confirmation if you want to continue, or decline if the supervisor is not the right fit. The supervisor makes a separate decision. An ongoing supervision relationship begins only after the required people have agreed.

When you both agree

The supervisor will appear under Supervisors in your Motivo account. You can then open their relationship page, send a message, view shared documents, and schedule sessions based on their booking preferences.

If you pay for supervision yourself, you may need an active payment card before the relationship becomes active. Open Settings > Payment to add or update the card when prompted.

For employer-sponsored supervision, your employer may also need to approve or finish assigning the supervisor. Program-specific steps can delay when the relationship appears in your account.

If either person declines

The call closes without starting ongoing supervision. Declining does not prevent you from using Browse directory to contact another supervisor.

You can compare what worked and what did not, then adjust your filters, availability, or the information you share before requesting another call.

If the decision is still pending

Open Intro calls to see whether action is needed from you. If you have already responded, the supervisor or employer may still need to respond. Avoid submitting a duplicate call request while the first decision is pending.
