Keep licensing and board documents current

Updated August 14, 2026

Independent supervisors can manage these files under Settings > Licenses & certifications. In-house supervisors see a limited document set under Settings > Credentials.

Upload each document in the right place

Keeping files with the credential they support makes expiration dates and review easier to understand.

  1. Open Settings > Licenses & certifications.
  2. Open the relevant license or certification entry. Upload the current license or certificate and update its expiration date.
  3. If your licensing authority requires supervision training, add the certificate within that license entry when the form asks for it.
  4. Add state-specific supervision certificates under Supervision credentials.
  5. Add broader telehealth training files under Telehealth training documents.
  6. Under Liability insurance, upload the current declaration page and enter its expiration date.
  7. Complete any state-specific section that appears for your licenses.
  8. Select Save changes.

If you mark a telehealth training file for deletion, the file is not removed until you select Save changes. Review the page after saving to confirm that the renewed file and date appear.

Renew a document without creating conflicts

Upload the renewed file and update the expiration date in the same edit. The form may reject a new file paired with the old date, or a new date paired with the old file.

For a license whose core details are locked, delete and reupload the entry when the page instructs you to do so. Have the replacement file ready before deleting so your profile is not left incomplete longer than necessary.

Understand document limits

There is no single supervisor document center for every licensing file. Documents remain in their license, credential, training, insurance, agreement, or supervision-relationship section.

Uploading a file under Licenses & certifications does not automatically share it with a supervisee. To exchange a form or other document for a specific supervision relationship, use that supervisee's Documents tab.

Motivo storing or reviewing a file does not guarantee that a licensing authority will accept it. Confirm required forms, signatures, formats, and submission deadlines directly with the authority that will review your application.
