Add off-platform supervision and clinical hours

Updated August 14, 2026

You need a supervisee profile with a license path before Add more hours is available on Progress.

Add hours manually

Use manual entries only for hours that Motivo does not add from a completed session.

  1. Select Progress.
  2. Select Add more hours.
  3. Under Hour type, choose Off-platform supervision or Clinical hours.
  4. For off-platform supervision, choose the Session type and Supervisor. Select Add new… if the supervisor is not listed.
  5. Enter the Session date and Number of hours.
  6. Select Add hours.

Wait for the success confirmation, then confirm the new row in the hour log.

Choose the correct hour type

Use Off-platform supervision for supervision completed outside Motivo. Record whether it was individual, with one other supervisee, or group supervision, and identify the supervisor.

Use Clinical hours for clinical work you want to include in your personal progress tracking. Clinical-hour entries do not ask for a supervisor or supervision format.

Avoid duplicate hours

Do not manually add a session completed through Motivo. It will be added automatically after your supervisor submits attendance, and a manual entry would count the time twice.

If a recent Motivo session is missing, first check whether it is still under Upcoming or waiting for attendance. Message your supervisor before creating a manual replacement.

Dates and supporting records

You cannot enter a future session date. Keep the source documents required by your board, since a manual entry records the hours but does not verify them or create a board form.
