Understand charges, receipts, and discounted rates

Updated August 14, 2026

You need an individual, directly paid supervision arrangement to see session charges and apply for the available discounted rate.

When a session is charged

An eligible completed session is charged to your active card after the session's 24-hour review period. The amount comes from the rate assigned to your supervision relationship and the session format.

There is no single fixed Motivo price. Review the rate shown during signup, on the supervisor flow, or in your account before booking. A session with other supervisees can use a different rate from an individual session.

Employer-sponsored sessions are billed to the employer. If you also have directly paid supervision, only those direct sessions use the card in your Motivo payment settings.

View payment history

Open Settings > Payment and find History. Each row shows the Session date, Supervisor, Session type, Amount, and Status.

Paid means the charge completed. Declined means the card did not complete the payment. Refunded means Motivo processed a refund for that charge. A successful payment also generates a receipt by email.

Apply for a discounted rate

Eligible independent supervisees who pay out of pocket may see Apply for a discounted rate on the payment page.

  1. Select Apply for a discounted rate.
  2. Answer Are your supervision sessions reimbursed by an employer?.
  3. Review and select the accuracy acknowledgement.
  4. Select Submit application.
  5. Review the rate displayed after submission.

The application can be submitted once and updates eligible supervision relationships that use the standard rate. Employer reimbursement, legacy rates, and no-cost arrangements can affect the result.
